Dat Hiatus.

Sorry for the long lapse in updates, it would appear that responsibilities are catching up with me. I'll make this quick, two points I should get it.

1. Halloween is coming up. This used to mean candy, but as time progresses the focus turns to costumes. Nothing scary, cute or adorable. Everything has to be either hilarious or slutty. Since I'm going to safely opt out of the slutty category I've run into some troubles thinking of a good costume that's reletively cheap but gets the job done.

2. Sunshine. It's a movie that serves as surreal experience into the human mind. Sure it's sci-fi and not what you'd consider cookie baking material but for this one, to fully grasp it's message and well the movie itself I suggest witholding the baking materials. Basically the Sun is dying and a crew of heroes is sent out to drop a bomb that would jump-start the ailing Sun to ensure the continuation of human life as we know it, only problem is that 7 years prior another crew was sent but failed. Full of suspense, manly tears, erection giving goodness.

I'll leave you with a song from the OST, if you like Hans Zimmer a la Inception, Gladiator or pretty much all of his amazing scores (minus Pirates) then you'll enjoy this.

More music, because music is life

I'd just like to bring awareness to an up and coming artist who goes by the stagename KO, how you pronounce that I leave to your descrection. I had the honour of seeing him perform at our frosh last year as an opener for Ill Scarlett and this man's story is a tribute to his music. Unlike most performers who rhyme about the hard times, KO (Ko Kapches) actually did spend some time living on the streets and went through several drug stints only to come out as a talented rapper. Some of his songs relate to baking cookies so the relevance is due and welcome as a post on this blog.

The adventures'll never end, it's Adventure Time!

Sorry for the lack of activity, I've been recovering since that awesome concert I last talked about.

I made mention of this a while ago but never gave an embed. That and I truly believe this deserves another mention. The pilot episode for Adventure Time that aired before the shows actual starting date. The animation is a bit different than what it is now, and yes the show is still airing and is due for another season. The next episode airs today at 10:30EST on Nick. Whoever thought this show was meant to air on a children's network or be seen by children in general clearly isn't in the best state of mind.

On a more sane note, check out the credits song called "Island Song" by Ashley Eriksson. This version isn't the exact same as in the show but it's practically the same.

Ear Sex

Is when you stick it in someone's ear, a great way to engage in sexual pleasure without the worry of breaking any vows and remaining abstinent. How you fit it in the ear is beyond me but you know how good cotton swabbing the shit out of your ear can feel.

Another form of ear sex is made by a band called USS, Canadian based.

Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS) is a musical duo that began working out of Parkdale,[1] a neighbourhood situated in the west-end of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band is composed of vocalist, guitarist and erhu player Ash Buchholz (aka Ashley Boo-Schultz) and turntablist and hypeman Jason Parsons (aka Human Kebab).
The USS sound is a mixture of drum and bass beats, grunge-like guitar riffs and 2-step rhythms. "We like to call what we do the campfire after-party," Buchholz said. "It's like you're at Nirvana Unplugged but there's a drum and bass party and glow sticks all around you."[2]

They just happen to be coming to the University of Waterloo for a show, pretty stoked.

John "UGHGHGH" Frusciante.

If you haven't listened to him before, you really should as it's quite the experience whether you're baking or not. It's a shame that RHCP broke up but he's done some amazing solo work, all of his albums deserve a look.

John Anthony Frusciante (pronounced Frusciante.ogg [fruːˈʃɑːnteɪ] ) (born March 5, 1970) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the former guitarist of the rock/funk band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he recorded five studio albums. Frusciante has an active solo career, having released ten albums under his own name, as well as two with now-Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and Joe Lally, as Ataxia. His solo recordings include elements ranging from experimental rock and ambient music to New Wave and electronica. Influenced by guitarists of various genres, Frusciante emphasizes melody and emotion in his guitar playing, and favors vintage guitars and analog recording techniques.

Favourite album might have to go to The Empyrean especially Dark/Light. Something about the fact that he was strung out on so many drugs during the production of most of his albums translates into his music and therefor into its listener, who is most likely also on something.

Let's just hope he stays alive and active enough to continue pumping out more mush, but this time when I say mush it's in the form of a compliment.

If you haven't watched this...

you really should.

Great movie to watch while baking cookies or muffins, either preference.

Super Troopers is a 2001 crime-comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, written by and starring the Broken Lizard comedy group (Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske). Marisa Coughlan, Daniel von Bargen and Brian Cox co-star while Lynda Carter has a cameo appearance. In total, Fox Searchlight paid $3.25 million for distribution rights of the film[1] and grossed $18.5 million at the box office.
You may recognize some of the cast from Beerfest... because it's the same cast. Both movies, hilarious.

"Littering and... littering and... littering and... smokin' the reefer."
